Thanks to all who braved the cold and participated in the second part of an honest discussion about the needs that surround us, our blindness to it, and the possibilities of making a difference in our world.
I think we've been both challenged and inspired by what has been presented, shared, and discussed.
It's time to make it practical. What are some things we can do as a community to put the things we've been talking about the past couple weeks into practice?

I think we should identify overseas locations where ministry is taking place and adopt one or two overseas mission posts that need help providing resources to the poor around them. Perhaps we could conduct fund raising events, send supplies, pray for their specific needs and even organize delegations of volunteers to visit and share in the work. And if others are interested, perhaps we could visit a local nursing home from time to time to bring cheer -- just to sit with them, sing some songs, etc. might be a blessing to the residents, some of whom probably don't have visitors.
